I don't know if this is the right forum or even if you deal with feet nails...but here goes!

Last year a pair of shoes pressed down on my big toe nail and caused bruising. Since then the area is sort of dead and lifts up from the nail bed. It feels sore occasionally, although not all the time, and is yellow on top.

I bought some of the new Scholl Nail Brightener and its made a slight difference. But would I be better going to see my GP? Or will it just grow out and be okay?

Any help would be appreciated!

Jayne

Hi
Nail Bright won't help the situation I'm afraid, take a trip down to your GP the yellowing could be down to the start of an infection so better to nip it in the bub. Lifted nails usually grow out; depending on the damage it should grow back.

Oh and bin the shoes :)

Oh thanks for that question, that happened to me too!!

Mine are growing out slowly, I can see the bruising moving further down my nail plate. They are a little yellow but I thought it was the differing shades of bruising....

I never thought about asking on here!!!

Just for your information toe nails can take from 12 to 18 months to fully regrow, so it will be a slow progress hth

sounds like you have some onycholysis going on there to me, (doesnt take much for this to happen) i could be wrong tho, do you have pics

never tried it, so cant answer that one flower - you would probs be better off just letting it grow out, but a tip i got for this was to put some gelbond down the nail (between the nailplate and nail bed, as this will help the plate stay on the bed)

Any help would be appreciated!

hope that helps flower
