Recently I went to a professional nail salon to get my nails done for an event. I got a manicure done. They gave me a base coat, top coat but my nail polish was chipping like the next day. What could be the cause of that? Please help:lol:

Hello,

How are your natural nails? For instance are they ridged/flaking..

My nails tend to flake and this can make the polish chip very quickly unless I use certain base coats..

Washing up the dishes, typing also..

Do you nails normally chip that quickly?

Jane

It may also have been poor application and/or a poor quality enamel. You should advise the salon that you are unhappy.

when i get my nails painted they start to chip within a day or two.. always it weird.

so i aways leave it plain now with like a small pattern the side etc.. otherwise it only looks nice for like a day

but i would also tell the salon and see what they say

could be down to poor application, but often if you have very thin and bendy nails like mine , the polish will chip away at the free edge because of the constant movement in the natural nail.

But see I got my nails done on thursday and by friday like have of the nail polish was off. I didnt do the dishes or anything so that the nail polish could chip. My nails are pretty good they aren't super hard but pretty hard and in pretty good condition. MY nails aren't flaking or rigid or anything like that. But like a week after I went back to that salon to get my nails done again and asked them what could be the cause of this they told me that my nails could just be more oily. When i did my nails the second time the second But I dont know if thats possible. But here is the thing when i do my nails at home and then do the dishes and everything then they stay on longer than when the salon does it. Also my sister went with me to the salon both times and she also got her nails done and hers lasted a week and a half so what could this be.?
