New into the business and trying to understand preferences as I need staff!

Would you prefer to:
A. Rent a table, or
B. Be employed

A or B will do unless any of you quiet, with not much to say ladies :) would like to expand on it.

Many thanks....

i think it would depend on the level of experience, someone new and young would rather be employed, however if they have worked in a salon before they may be looking to branch out and rent a table to try and earn more money. its personal preference i guess, i would rather be self employed however some people dont want the hassle and want a guaranteed income and set hours xx

As said previous, newly inexperienced from college would want a steady income (so employed) - anyone with experience would prefer to have more of a say in their earnings so would probably prefer self employed or rent a table.:)

Me personally? I would prefer to be self employed and rent. Thats what I do now, but thats because of my life style at the mo....having two small children and not working full time. Maybe you could offer both? A certain amount of employed jobs and a certain amount of rented tables available. Then see what gets snapped up first! If more people wanted to be employed, then you could offer the rented tables as being employed if you have no interest. Hth xx

Same here too i would much prefer to rent .

Hi, I qualified as a Nail Tech late last year and am about to hit the big 40 I currently work mobile. If I was looking to work in a salon I think I personally would prefer to rent a table as the reason I went into this industry is so that I can be self employed and have flexibility. But I do agree with what kirsty said in that I think that younger techs may want the security of being employed.

I think...

Employed for a new tech.. and rent for a more experienced tech.

Rent, but rent and be able to dictate my own hours, timings, products and take my own bookings

like most, rent.

anne xx
