If you know you can trust the answers on salon geek, then you will also know that there is no product that will do harm to your nails. All nail products are from the acrylic family.

What you need to research is the technician and how good he or she is .. and make sure they are using top end nail products that require minimal and gentle nail preparation like CND. You want to find a technician whose first concern is to maintain the health of your natural nails by not being rough with them or removing product incorrectly ... then you also need to look to yourself and maintain the nails you have been given with correct home care .. regular and regular and timely maintenance appointments and no picking.

Personal recommendation is always the best way to go .. find a good technician that a happy client has recommended to you.

Actually I didnt know that, thanks :)

Well the salon i went to has been there for 10 years and someone i know has been going for 7 years and she said she thinks theyre the best. Im going to take your advice and not go there again though as my nails were hurting last night and i think they werent using good quality products as they are hardly available on the tinternet. I researched it all a bit more too. I paid £30 gbp for them but i dont think the salon was very clean now i think about it, there was a lot of dust on the tables.

Thanks for the help though

Your nails should NEVER hurt when you get them done or after you've had them done.

If I were you I would ring one of the big nail companies like CND Bio Sculpture Youngs NSI etc and ask if they could recommend a good nail tech in your area.... you can't go wrong if you do that
