Re-launching has anyone found this worth while

Hi

I am taking over a salon at the weekend and was thinking about doing a re-launch sometime in March. I was going to offer mini manicures, pedicures facials etc for £5 with drinks nibbles and a goody bag for the client to take home. i thought this would get more people in and to create new custom. i was wondering if anyone has actually done this and was it worth while. I know that on the day i probably wont take as much money as i would if i opened normally but was hoping by doing this it would boost the client base.

Any comments suggestions or help at all would be much appreciated

I did this exactly a year after my salon opened. The business had grown well and I wanted to reward staff, thank existing clients and welcome new ones. I spent £3000 and it was hugely successful. I made 3 times that back. I plan to do it again on my 5 year birthday next year. I did mine in March and it was a great time of year, it set us up great for the summer.
