Hi this is my first post I'm here so hope I've done it correct !! :)

I am thinking of going on a pre tipping course for hair extensions but until then does anybody know of anyone who offers this service ? Eg I remove a set of bonds and send 200 strands off to be re tipped in to nail or stick tips?

Thank you! X

don't think there is! pre-tipping is a specialist process though, we used to do this 5/6 years ago, lengthy process x

I taught my self how to do it, can only do stick and nail - would love to do nano's! Although I struggle getting them even. Wish there was a course - I could do with some improvement lol. Xxx

Here's some mini tips I made to fit mini locks.

Yes! It was awful. Definitely couldn't do it all the time, normal stick tips and nail are fine and can do them quick but the mini ones take ages and a lot of reheating and playing around lol :) xx

They look nice and neat :) I have a few customers who wear Russian and obviously don want to throw the hair after 12 weeks but when there applied fusion bonds I don't know what to do next! The bond gets solution and then crushed. Do you just make them back into bonds by the hair been loose and not in bundles anymore ? Can't get my head around it haha xx

I normally snip the end off and retip that way. Get some keratin and either use a connector iron or glue gun (make sure you use keratin sticks) I taught my self! I had some rebonds to do and the client didn't really fancy paying £40 for them to be retipped so I did it my self. I practiced on some strands I had laying about. OR if they are willing to pay send 'em to Ruth and reggies! :) I'll find the video on YouTube I found really helpful on tipping stick tips - if you fancy a go at it your self :) xxx

I like this vid, makes it easy -
It's by easternhaircom and the video is called how to make I tip hair extension?

That's for stick tips, same goes for nail tip but use a nail tip flier to give you the U shape, a little extra keratin for nail and just trim off the excess :) xxx

I have been pretipping for years and had a successful time doing it, you need the right equipment it cuts down time and makes it easier. It's repetitive and you can have problems with fingers after nearly ten years of doing it

Do you find it easier with a glue gun or with a heat connector? I'm finding that its taking me hours on end at the moment! X

Re tipping was taught to me in my training
It's an everyday part of being a hair extensionist
I'm surprised at this post, and the responses
Was no one else told about re bonding in their training?

How do you determine the size of the tips for the mini locks? Is it just trial and error, looking and the locks & re rolling until its right? How long did it take you to make a whole head? (150) ? X

Trial and error really, I trimmed the tips and remelted and rolled and made them smaller. Took ages! If I'm doing normal stick tips or nails it doesn't take too long but the minis require a lot a patients remelting and rolling I had a mini lock with me to test they was small enough xx
