Evening everyone, can anyone help me with my re-balences I did one today a four week one and it took me 2 and a half hours my longest yet. It's got me down as it really shouldn't take this long to do , I worked it out it took me 1 and a half hours to file ad the other hour to add the acrylic and shape and buff. Can anyone help, how can I make it not take so long what am I doing wrong.

Talk me through what you r doing? I might beable to help you.

ok first i push back the cuticles then I file the side walls, then the free edge , then I blend in the re-growth line , and then I file the old smile line and the apex. With the smile line I file it untill the old line has nearly disappeared , once thats all done I then apply the new smile line and the new apex and then file into shape buff the scratches out ,then apply the cuticle oil and buff with girlfriend buffer and then apply top coat. hope it all make sence.

I have the same problem sorry i cant help but just to let know your not alone i have got down to 2 hours I'm hoping i will get quicker with practice. The only thing i can pass on is i was told to start filing at the free edge and smile line as a lot of your work is then already done when you get to zone 3.

Thanks Sarah it does help as sometmes it does feel as if you are the only one thats having these problems. I will give it a go and see if it helps. Thanks for the help.

are you having to file a lot of lifting away ?

could you maybe apply a top coat of gel as this would help your timing as it will eliminate buffing.hth.xx

It sounds like you are doing whats needed and not more...(alot of time can be used up removing more than is nessesry).....do you find that you go over the same bits...? are you chatting...?...

you know sometimes i am filing and then think..why am i still filing here..its done....or....why am i back here when i have already done it.

Now i try to stay more focused and make sure i don't go back to where i have already done.

I was doing the exact same thing and not noticing also I was stopping to chat too much lol. Now I make sure I carry on working while chatting and stick to my routine when filing so I don't go back over the area that is already finished

It sounds to me like you are removing way more product than you need to be doing.

I never remove all that zone 1 material. I only flatten a bit over the smile line and then just add a new smile. You don't need to replace all the rest of zone 1 ... its already covered and if you are using CND, it will not have discoloured.

As for the apex. Your apex shouldn't really have to be replaced. If your product is always thicker in the centre of the nail then the natural apex will always be there.

If you are having to remove lots of lifted material, then you do need to take care of that problem by not getting the lifting in the first place.

I do charge more for a 4 week rebalance anyway unless the client has done great homecare and it doesn't take me any longer, in which case the charge is as normal.

Thanks everyone for your advice I think I maybe filing over the same area and filing more than i need to in certain areas , I also think I talk to much lol so maybe if i dont talk as much and concentrate on the filing I may just get my timing down.
