Hello lovely geeks! It has been a while since i posted!

I am studying for NVQ level2 in beauty therapy and i now want to do some nail extension courses.

I have found quite a few 1/2 day courses at Capital hair and beauty. Would a course recognised by BABTAC & Professional Beauty be ok? Could please tell me what i should be looking for when booking a nail course and should i go for acrylic/fibreglass/silk etc?????

Thanks in advance, Hel xx

I'm not sure about the insurance question but I am sure somebody else would be able to help with that.

In my area everyone wants acrylic nails. Nobody seems to know (or want to know!) what fibreglass/silk nails are. So unless your area is different, I would go for acrylic or gel, hths:hug:

Thanks guys for the help (sort of), i know i could search or this but i would like up to dat answers as things move so quickly in the beauty trade, i just do not know what i should be looking for and don't want to waste my money! x

If doing artificial nails I wouldn't go for a short 1 to 2 days course. Learning Nails really is a journey and there is no quick remedy.

I would recommend CND foundation course in L&P as an Industry option or NVQ level 2 in nail treatments as a college alternative. Once proficient in L&P you can do conversion courses for Gels etc. This is only my opinion and I would ask around to see what other techs have found useful. Enjoy!!

Hi again
done some research there is a 2 day course running in manchester (i live in leeds) sounds ok but as u all know im not too good at this stuff! if any1 is bored n wouldn't mind taking a look & sharing their opinions the site is Nail Technician Course, Nail Courses, Nail Art Training, Nail Technician Training, Acrylic Nail Course
fully appreciated thanks

This course shown made me laugh...IN NO TIME YOU LL BE PERFORMING A SET OF NAILS IN AN HOUR!!!

Id be very interested to know if any nail tech on here performed a set in an hour so soon after their training, and Id also be interested to know who uses an acrylic thats odourless???....And on top of it , you can then go out and buy any product and use it,.....yeh exactly what I done when I done my intensive course, and wasted loads of money because I wasnt trained in the products....What other crap does this company tell if you ask me?:Scared:
