Hi
Im looking for suggestions on what nvq/vtct syllabus student books are best for studying pre course.
I have various people willing for me to practise on because I want some experience before my courses start next year. I have some knowledge and have coloured and cut my family's hair for years on and off, but now want to make this a professional career and therefore would like to find books or even video instruction courses that will show me exactly what cuts and colours techniques i will be expected to be sufficient in for final examination.
Is there any study material book or video that has exactly what each test for each unit is?

I also have an opportunity to train at an AbT award winning academy and go straight into color and cutting courses allowing me to get experience, training and insurance. I understand that vtct /nvq is recognised globally and industry standard and abt is accredited not a qualification, however has anyone had experience in doing the obviously much more affordable ABT and specific accredited courses then successfully having them converted to full vtct qualification?
For me i have added complications to consider when choosing training venues as i suffer with ptsd, and social anxiety aswell as the usual of costs and travelling to consider.
What im hoping is that a few of you can tell me if you or you know successful hairdressers who have, studied and got accredited with abt course providers just to give them opportunity to earn and get more experience before later going for full nvqs.?

I obviously eventually do want to fully qualify, but to get myself to a good level beforehand and earn would be very beneficial to me and relive alot of anxiety i will have during study.
I also plan on running my own part time haur dressing business from home so won't need units to study in reception etc.

I want to eventually specialise in colouring and cutting.

I really appreciate any feedback xx
