I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask this, so if it's not allowed please feel free to slap me on the wrists and delete this but....

Is there a great place on-line to recruit stylists from? I've been searching and signed up to several websites to post my vacancies on but before I part with any real cash I'd like to know where other salon owners find their stylists? I'm sure once you've been going awhile, you get people approaching you rather than you having to go out and find them, but if you do advertise where do you do it?

I'm going to put an ad in the local paper this week too, which I anticipate will get a good amount of interest (and a lot of dross I'm sure)... I was just wondering if there was a "must advertise" place that others had good success with? I know it obviously depends on where in the country you are but any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Thank you!

Not sure why you think this wouldnt be allowed!.

We have a recruitment section as part of the Biz Geek on here, not sure if you have tried posting details here.

Good luck with trying to fill your vacancies.

When I had my salon, hairandbeautyjobs.com was one that we used.

I'd love to know as well, we've been looking for about a year now with no luck. We're now looking for a trainee as well and usually have several cv's handed in but nothing for ages! I've heard about stylists being made redundant and salons closing down but what happens to everyone??

Hi girls!

Thanks for your replies! I was a bit worried about posting this incase it was against the rules to post outside websites - I know a lot of sites get twitchy about it!

Anyway, I actually signed up for a recruitment agency called Style Tech Recruitment - has anyone heard of them? It costs nothing if they don't find you someone, but if they do after a week of working for you then they charge you £495 I think...

I know it's expensive but I thought it was worth a go as I kind of need someone quickly and actually so far it seems really good. I was sent over 13 CVs which exactly matched my requirements and responded asking for interviews with 6 of them, so just waiting to hear if the stylists are interested or not.

I also signed up with Facebook advertising late last night and it went live this morning and I had three CVs through that today!

I signed up with Gumtree too and had a couple of CVs through that...

I think I'm going to leave it a few days and see what comes of what I've had in, and if I can't find anyone worth having then I'll sign up for some of the other websites such as Hair and Beauty Jobs!
