Sorry for posting in wrong place - I posted in consumer section but dont know how may of you may look there!

I am having a first fake tan this week but have lots of red marks on my face from past blemishes and always wear make up. Would having a tan on the face make the red marks darker or may it make them more or less noticeable? Grateful for advice.

When you say red marks do you mean little scar type areas?

When i trained in tanning i was told that if you have spots etc then the tan will look darker in those areas but i can't say i've noticed this a Huge amount. I think if you are worried then put some barrier cream/ moisturizer (very small amount) on these areas so that the tan does not stick too much to them - Again this depends what sort of marks you're referring to - Can you elaborate?

Thanks. Some scars, some just red marks (hyperpigmentation?) that are left when a blemish finally goes ...

Sorry, posted too fast! I am concerned that the red areas will just appear darker so the adding a little moisturiser, barrier cream sounds a good idea. Any other advice?

I have some acne scarring and when i have a tan it actually blends it in better
