I took off my polish this morning and noticed my nails are red and throbbing a bit. I haven’t picked one bit. There’s also a few white lines. I’m upset. Why would this happen? I’ve been taking such good care of them

Here’s a better shot of the white. Is this product? If not, what could have caused this? I’m so sad. I’ve been so good :(

Meant to put this in ask a pro, can someone move I I am sorry

What did you use to remove the polish? What brand was the polish?

Don't know the Mineral Fusion brand, quick Google says acetone free remover, I would guess the redness is just staining from the red polish. The lines are dehydration and dryness.

Ok so the lines should go away if I moisturize? :( I was afraid they were cracks.

From the images, is that damage or product? I’m so sad 😞 so much progress lost

No, you're catastrophising..neither nail polish or remover can do permanent damage. Just short term dehydration.

Ok. Thank you. I was wondering if it was there before and I just noticed lol like when I had them removed.

Also any reason for the tips of my nails being so spotty? Like they’re transculent in some areas and very white in others.

Should I file them down? idk if this is unhealthy nail

Leave them, they are fine. Just keep oiling them.

Thanks. It may be the OCD kicking in. Dang. I am leaving them. :(
It is your OCD, honestly they are fine. I've seen much worse on people. They look lovely, you are doing so well. Just don't start picking again. I have a client with anxiety and she does exactly the same. She found holding a little pencil or something similar that she can fiddle with really helps her to stop.

Thanks. It’s easier to fixate on this than other things, that has to be it. I’m trying to play video games when it bothers me or pet one or my pets!! Lol I know nails aren’t perfect. They’re a bit uneven and red to me prob since the nails were removed but I know I’m over concerned about it. Thanks for humoring me.

Could it be the nail strengthener? Daily, I put on a coat and remove the old one. Today I noticed splitting on one of the nails I had to file away.

If I just oil and moisturize can I stop putting on this nail strengthener I wonder? it peels so frequently so I wonder if I am doing more harm than good removing it almost daily to reapply.

Hi, my advise is get a good quality nail oil. Don't better with the strengthener.

If you oil your nails twice a day they will thank you for it and it will penetrate into the cuticle area and help your nails to grow a new stronger nail from within the matrix.

My nails split and crack all the time. I found for my toe nails Imperial Feet Nail Mycosis Gel to be a life saver. It cured my toe nail fungus and the other toes which I thought there was nothing wrong with are now growing normal FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! (I'm 28).

Now for your fingers if there's no fungus you can still use nail mycosis gel. Or a good quality oil like Dadi oil or CND SolarOil.

Honestly I can barely see the lines. I'm a qualified nail tech. Your nails look really healthy hun. Don't stress xx 🌺
