Ok, I have my holistic head on now. I started my distance learning course in reflexology over a year ago and am on assignment 20 of 28..... long drag or what. Anyhow I know I have to go do a practical course on top and am keen to get this done in the next few months.

So my question is, is reflexology a popular treatment? I am guessing it is not as popular as say beauty, nails and massage, but is there hope of maybe building up a small clientelle if I work really really hard and get good at it????

Your advice and any info would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

xx

hi,
I only do reflexolology every now and then which is a shame as i really enjoy it,i also really enjoy recieving it too :)
I had to do 50 treatments on case studies as part of my course.
If you really enjoy it stick with it and practise now and again on family members/friends,i am sure you will have lots of willing volunteers.
I am always raving on about reflexology to my clients lol
Good luck :)

I do quite a lot of reflexology and tend to use it in other things as well or do part reflex and 20 minute massage. When I do my pedicures I do a foot and leg massage and talk to them about reflexology . I have had 2 reflexology babies not personally but have helped 2 ladies who have had trouble conceiving, I love it ! X x

Reflexology is one of my most popular treatments. In fact, I am looking into specialising in pregnancy/fertility reflexology. I have also been approached by one of the popular local salons asking if I would go in one day a week and do reflexology as they don't offer it and they would like to offer it to their clients. Like any new treatment, it just needs advertising, advertising and more advertising. Good luck.

Reflexology is my most popular treatment in both my private clinic and at the hospice where I volunteer. It was the first thing I ever trained in over 15 years ago and is still my favourite treatment to give and receive.

You definitely need to do lots of case studies to get a feel for the treatment. We had to do well over 100. We then had the option to train further to become clinical reflexologists. There are also lots of great courses for CPD which lead to areas you can specialise in from treating people with cancer to fertility, maternity and even baby reflexology.

It's not a quick treatment to learn but well worth the effort.

I agree you do need to do lots to get a feel for it,i would love to do clinical reflexology.
I am going to advertise it a lot more and i have a ladies night event coming up where i am going to really advertise it and give out lots of information about it so fingers crossed. :)

Thank you for all your replies. I am really excited about actually getting qualified. I have been doing it on and off for around 8 years just on family - I did a course a while back, did all my case studies but never finished it as I started a business which kind of took all my energy up. I really regret not finishing it as I have had to start again.

I feel encouraged by your replies - thank you.

xx
