Refreezing ice cream

Ok I googled it and can't find it my mum always told my its very dangerous as the bacteria due to the milk can make you very sick . True or false ?
 
You shouldn't ever refreeze anything that's defrosted. X

I know you shouldnt re freeze, but id like to know why... If something is re frozen surely that kills the bacteria.

Has been one that has baffled me, but ive never thought to ask anyone :) xx

It doesn't kill the bacteria it only makes it dormant. As soon as its defrosted again either in your plate or in your belly all the harmful bacteria are back to life.

I did a good hygiene course years ago and that was my understanding of it.

Most bacteria can only be killed by cooking at high temps some bacteria that's as high as 220c.

Ive googled lol, it says ice cream looses its texture & doesnt taste as nice... But wont harm you. (According to yahoo answers ;) ) x
 
I have been very ill from refrezzing ice cream would never do it again!
