Rent when on holiday.

hi i have my own salon, i rent out space to a girl for £50.00 a wk everything included except tan,she is going on holiday soon and just wondering do i still charge her rent?:lol:

hi ya, i rent a room and i pay if i'm there or not, the way i look at it is that if you go on hol you still have to pay your rent or mortgage :irked:

I would have thought the answer would be yes, she would still have to pay, your keeping the space open for when she gets back, and you still have your rent to pay wether your there or not. x

I rent a room and I wouldn't dream of not paying when I'm not there and I'm sure that the owner expects his money, which is only fair. xxx

i thought that thanks for all your response,i think i need to harden up,i know what your saying about i still have to pay my rent whether i am there or not,looks like i will have to bite the bullet and tell her as she was asking.cheers x

It would have been a good idea to get all this sorted up front .....I know what you mean about being a woos though, I'm one myself!

I think she is a bit cheeky to even suggest or put you in the awkward position of making you answer this question. It´s not like you can rent the room out if she is not there!!

If a person pays rent for a space, then that space has to be paid for whether she is there or not!! This is standard practise. It is not a question of you being mean or having to feel that way. It is normal.

great thanks i think you have all made my mind up for me,and yes i should have sorted this out at start you do not always think of everything as its the first time i have rented space out.oh well thursday is the day to tell her.x
