Hi, I am helping my duaghter out and dont know anything about beauty. Shes got a great new salon and its really busy. She wants to rent out a treatment room and a nail station.
If they pay a percentage of takings how do we know what has been taken as they would not use our till? or should they? what do you do?

i own a hair salon and we have a nail room, we rent them out at £450 a month or you could do 50/50% she just have to trust the people, get them to write down everything they do and the price, how they pay, card, check ect just make sure she does contracts and write down exactly what she wants, inc hours, uniform, prices, who she can give discount too etc, good luck x

Best to keep it simple & rent the room & table out per week/month, with the therapist & nail tech both being self employed, supplying all their own stuff - more hassle free!
Between the two of them your daughter can have her shops rent covered as well.

As littlegemgem said with the percentage thing you have to trust them, & without sounding too hard, she probably wont know these people & trusting a complete stranger, well thats got to be tough.

Also with the percentage rent, if the girls dont work, go on long/lots of hols, are sick etc etc & dont work your daughter has no earnings either. They will be classed as self employed too, so they will do as they please.
If there is a flat rent to pay, they will want to work hard to cover their rent & earn a nice bit too.

Hope that helps :) x
