Renting a room (what are your rights?)

HI,

Wee question for you all, I know a few on here rent rooms and i'm wondering if you can help so here goes.....

I currently rent a room and i'm wondering if anyone knows where i can find out what my rights are i.e. what this entitles me too with regards to using facilites in the building what my client can use (toilet etc), advertising on windows ect???

I think you will find that everyone's 'rights' will be different depending on the lease/rental agreement they have signed.

Have you received a detailed, legal rental agreement from your landlord?

Not as yet i'm due to get it in the next few days but there is just a few things niggling me just now that I wanted to check out.

You need to ask the person you are renting from. Make sure you clear up all your questions and get a written agreement before you start renting.
