Hi Girlies I´m new to this so sorry if this has been covered before! Why didn´t I find this ages ago, it´s fab! I was wondering what the going rate is back in UK for renting a space in a salon? I´m thinking of moving back (Portsmouth area if that makes any difference) and haven´t got a clue of costs involved starting out. It will be a challenge starting again but exciting! Any input anybody?

Thanks Minky that was what I needed to know.

What will you be renting your space for - hair? beauty? nails?

I beleive the average going rate can very depending on what you are going to use the space for and the area/location of the salon.

Sorry I didn´t make myself very clear did I? stage fright I think as this is first time using this site and I´m still finding my way around! I would want to rent a desk, or space for one, to do nails in a hair salon or beauty salon, whatever really! Just wondered roughly what nail techs paid a week? obviously it varies from area to area but just want an idea. Thanks P.s. why can´t I get the yellow smilies to work?

I think it can vary between £50 per week and £150 plus per week depending on location/salon.

When you post on a thread is the 'disable smilies in text' further down the screen ticked? If so it needs un-ticking.

On the subject of renting 'Space' in a salon, is it usual to be expected to provide your own table, please?

I dont think there is a set rule on this so it can vary greatly.

Thanks oey for the info. Thats not bad, cheaper than setting up complete salon etc! and you have potential customers coming thru the door straight away. Deena, Regarding the question of the desk I don´t know about you but I´d rather buy my own desk anyway so I have it just right with adequate storage etc. Oh cool, I did a smiley! couldn´t get it to work before!!
Thanks girlies.
