I've been buying NSI's retail emery board box, but it's actually quite expensive.

I also use a new one for every new enhancement/manicure/pedicure client and give it to them after the treatment. So I'm using a lot! I know its costed in to the set/trestment price.

Does anyone else buy retail boxes, where do you get them?

As long as you get your money in the treatment what difference does the cost make, if it is a good product?

I buy all mine from CND. My clients love them and they buy them from me ... I do not give them to them after the treatment. I sanitise them and use them again so I get paid in effect for every time I use them.

Clients pay about 1.00 for a new file.

I also sanitise my files after use and re-use them. I have bought the CND butterfly files and these are selling like hot cakes for £1 each. One lady bought 4 the other day for handbag, home, bedside and a spare!!

I use a new file for each new client but I don't give them away. I keep them with their names attached to it and use it on them the next time. My clients likes the fact that they have their own file and gives them a peace of mind.

The only problem with doing this is storing the files. Obviously, the more clients you have, the more files you have to store.

I sell the CND koala's to my clients at 1.99 each (this is the RRP according to the S2 catalogue). People are happy to pay that price and I like to try and tie this retail sale in with the solar oil by telling the client about the 1200 side of the file for buffing the oil in. I sell these to enhancement and natural nail clients.

However, I'm considering getting a box of "file & sniff" from Ellisons and seeing how they go. Remember scratch & sniff? Well these files are fun looking retail files with fruit print on them, and when you file they release the scent of the fruit that's printed on them. Their RRP for these is £1 and I think they would go down really well as a novelty item.
