Hi Geeks!

I am opening my salon on Friday and I still have not found a decent make up range to use. I intend to stock it as well so it needs to be retailable. My town has nowhere to buy make up at the mo so I will be filling a need, but which to choose. I don't have zillions of pounds either cos have just paid 2 grand for dermalogica!
Any ideas/prices/names gratefully recieved. (Oh, and not art deco, love it but don't ask.)

Yeah susan posnick not too dear for a good kit, paula dorf, ID Minerals, Royal Effem, jane Iredale all excellent.

Or if you want high turnover and a young clientelle why not consider Barry M.

Hi

I opend up my salon Feb this year and i Am using and Retailing Barbara Bort

It is an italian Mineral Make up it is fantastic I use it on myself.

It is very long lasting has fantastic coverage and is running close to Mac and bobbie Brown for half the cost.

There is no miinimum start up cost the ladie will recommend best selling items and go through everything with you until you choose whats best for your budget etc.

Have a look at my website www.bliss-salon-uk.net

I retail the products on my website as well as in my salon, if you like what you see, I can put you in touch with the lady.

Barbara Bort was a serious contender for my salon but I really loathed the smell of the lipsticks! The whole range smelt like my Granny's makeup bag. Bleurgh!

REALLY:irked:

Im not a big fan of the shiney lips, BUT all the rest are good,

well at least all my clients so far have told me so and i sell quite a lot too. im always ordering the make-up in and now xmas is on the way ive done loads of trail make-overs and already had people ordering in the new party range....

why dont you go for MAC or Bobbie brown then and pay quadroople for them...cos BB is on the same line as them but half the price.

Have your clients tried any of the products??

If NO i suggest you do as they are the one,s paying and be wearing it lol

I was put of barbara bort because if the images they use. Thats shallow isnt it, but I believe make up is something clients want to touch and play with and the POS has to be enticing.

I work out of a kit so its not too important but it didnt appeal to me. will have a look at it now though and have a play about.

Sophie very kindly sent me her demo kit so I tried it out on a few clients FOC. To a man (woman!) they all said yuck to the smell.
I'm with Kitty too on the images; they look a bit like 1970's Cosmo covers to me.
Sorry!

theres a girl on here is selling royal effem

I stock Jane Iredale which is fantastic and I wouldn't swap it for anything but you will need to spend quite a lot of money to get stocked up with retail and the tester stand which in my opinion is a must if you don't want stock sat on the shelves.

I have noticed in the last few months that my make up sales have declined and some clients have admitted they can no longer afford the products although they love them so are sacrificing make up over treatments.

lol

what posters have you got?

You should let sophie know your feedback so she can sort it out.

mine are great people have commented on them so much.

must be the areas we live in lol....

:):):):)

Art deco is amazing! I've had it on for a few months now and it flies off the shelf. The products are fantastic the packing and the whole image is great to.

They do stands to promote the latest tends with discounts.

I just started off with one of these. and a student make up kit for salon use. The lastest christmas one is gorgeous. They have a website if you google it.

Also the mineral foundations beat any others i and many of my clients have tried x
