I’m a self employed beauty therapists that works from home and looking for some advice.

Has anyone got any retail tips? I was thinking of retailing some products before everything happened with lockdown.

Ive had my break now and ready to get back to doing something
Any suggestions?xxx

There are lots of professional skincare products etc. so maybe look at what sort of products you like using and research it from there?

What I would strongly caution against is getting sucked into MLM type companies that offer party plans where you have to recruit others and buy lots of kits and products to sell. The vast majority of people who get into these schemes end up losing money and a few friends along the way. :(

I'm also looking into the same, we currently retail cuticle oils and they sell really well, so was thinking of adding hand creams aswell and potentially face masks, but other than that I'm sort of stuck on what else we can offer.

I tend to stock items that complement my treatments - so more specialist stuff they can't buy in Asda.

  • Tisserand ready blended massage oils, bath oils, bath soaks, hand creams, gift packs
  • Kaeso facial products
  • Crystal Clear Complex C skin care range
  • CND Vinylux nail polish (to match the shellac gel applied)
  • CND solar oil, Rescue Rx, Ridge filler, files & buffers
  • Foot rasps
  • Callus peel foot cream

Check out how much the products you are proposing to sell are selling for on amazon/allbeauty - as you’ll find it’s often impossible to make a profit

Totally agree with this. Why is this tho? Where are they getting them from and how is it ever worth them selling them as no profit in it? [emoji848] #confused

I guess it’s simply their buying power.... the price comes down if you can bulk buy!
It’s all very well these companies saying they are unable to stop it etc and that ‘they’ as in Amazon etc can’t give a personal service like we can... but sadly I’ve had clients who listen intently to my advice during the ‘complimentary’ consultation.... then take that ‘knowledge’ to purchase cheaper online

When I reopen - I will be slim- lining my retail as my garage is full of ‘bright ideas’ the things I couldn’t sell the broken dreams!

Thanks everyone, I don’t want to look at MLM ☹️
Is there cuticle oils/hand cream anyone is selling? I do have to kaeso products I use for facials but not retailing them at the minute.
Any others?xx
