Hiya,

Saw a thread here about cosmetic surgery.

I am interested in getting my nose done in the future, but want it to look natural. Any advice for me?

I am based in London...who is reputable etc...

My boyf isnt supportive and neither is my mother (who has had lipo! talk about hypocryitical), but I suppose your face is always scarier.

To be honest with you, the thought of going under the knife for any reason scares the living hell out of me.

I think most women at some time or other, (including myself), think, " ooooooh if I could just change this, or tweak that....."

But, I've seen programs on the TV that made me realise that it wasn't worth the risk of anything going wrong. The only thing I regret is not having my teeth straightened when I was younger. Instead I guess I just learned to make the most of what I've got, (or what I haven't!:)), and kinda learned to be happy with it.

Too scary for me.

Sorry no vote of confidence for you mate! :green:

i had mine done. my only regret is i never had it done sooner.

i managed to get mine done on the NHS so ask your doctor for a referral, they might do it, and i had to wait 9 months but they flew by. Other than that try BUPA. or you could try a private clinic, but whoever you choose make sure you do your research and make sure your surgeon is qualified.

make sure you have a proper consultation, they should take photo's of your nose so you can both look at it properly and discuss the areas you want to improve.

also, your surgeon will discuss the things that could go wrong, mostly to do with the aneasthetic, which you should expect, so that you are fully informed what you're letting yourself in for and can make a clear informed decision whether to go ahead, so if he doesn't discuss these things with you then steer clear.

like i said tho, it's scary to talk about and you do need to think about all of the consequences if it goes wrong, but i've never looked back and wished i'd had it done at 18 rather than 26.

as long as your looking for a "normal" nose rather than wanting to look like a superstar then i'm sure you will be happy with the end result, because if it's the latter you'll probably never be happy with yourself.

i'd go so far as to say it changed my life... simply because it made me a much more confident person.

I'm really glad I read this thread as I'm also thinking of getting it done. Luckily I have a bupa literally on my doorstep and have a friend who's been through it with them with amazing effects. For me it's a case of the money and justifying spending that amount when I could do so much with my family with £2800. It's good to read other people's comments though.

I'm looking for over 50s ladies who've 'had work' - whether they loved it or not. Just need a quick quote and a picture of you (not the work - just a head shot). It's for Woman's Weekly magazine.
