Ridges and pits in nails

Hi all

I have noticed more recently pits and ridges on my nails, what causes this? I have high BP and a Thyroid problem, is it my medication ?

Many things can cause ridging in the nail plate from injury to age (definitely age related) to aggressive manicuring to diet to general health ... so in essence, yes, your general health or medication ( which would come under diet) could all play a part.
