Hi - I moved all my stuff into my room tonight, which I am renting in a leisure centre . When I was int he room, I could here the gym's music which I am now worried about when I do treatments.

When I looked at the room I didnt here this.

I am only planning on renting the room until September, but this is really annoying. Do you think this is going to put people off.

Thank you :(

I used to have that problem too, but I came to an arrangement with the staff that I would ask them to turn the music down to a reasonable level when I was doing a relaxing treatment - massage, facial etc. It seemed to work well for us that way. When you've got your nice background music on it tends to mask a fair bit of background noise from the gym anyway.

HI - thank you, I will ask them to see if they would be willing to do that.

Are you still in the GYM? how is it going? I am finding it very quite, but I have only been in there a day, and advertising for a week.

Just trying to think of ways to advertise, that I am there?

Thank you

I can really sympathise with you,it's a nightmare where I am.Noise levels are atrocious.I have asked and asked for the staff to try to be quieter when I am doing relaxing treatments, even put a sign on door saying whe I am doing facials and massage etc.

On friday eve I was doing facial and one of the staff knocked on my door to ask for a spray tan:twisted: Even though the sign was clearly visible. She apologised afterwards(said she hadn't seen the sign) but it wasn't good at all and I had to pretend it was one of those things.

Try turning your own music up,that sometimes helps.Good luck.xx

No, I'm not there any more, but when I was quiet, I used to hang around reception and chat to the members and staff about treatments. I put a stand with my price lists on the reception desk, I also put up small posters around the reception area and on the notice boards, and put a book with treatment info in the seating area. Obviously I asked permission from the gym owner before I did any of these things. You could also do leaflet drops, or a refer-a-friend scheme. Make sure you put on your price lists and website that non-members are welcome, otherwise people think they can't come to you unless they're a member of the gym.

And don't panic. It takes months to build up a business, so it's very early days for you at the moment.

Thanks thats some very good advice, I will make sure I put a sign on the door when doing treatments.

Was thinking off offering staff a discount?
