I believe I have rosacea (not been to gp) but have all the symptoms.

Although probably a mild case It has suddenly in the last couple of weeks become worse due to cold weather.

Can anybody recommend a skincare range to help. The thought of being given steroid medication or excessive antibiotics does not appeal to me as I have a friend with the condition and it made her worse.

My skin (primarily my nose and cheeks) feels so tight, dry and itchy and my nose has developed red bumps all over.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Must treat as sensitized skin; ultra calming range from dermalogica is great to help control

have suffered from this annoying condition all my life! I use as natural products as possible.. soapfree ideally with a good PH balance, as organic and natural as possible tbh. I never found Dermalogica very good at all. at one point I made my own wash from castile soap and olive oil and that worked well too. I dont use much stuff on my face but I always, always use sunscreen 30 under make up (or without) as the sun makes it worse for me. At one point I removed my make up with olive oil which worked too but just too messy and Im just too lazy for it:) definitely dont use anything that will dry up your skin. I have oily skin (altough it is less so now in my mid thirties for sure and much more balanced, than when i was younger) but never use any products for oily skin as they are way too harsh and make my skin worse. My skin is way more balanced just using more natural stuff

Thanks guys. I turned 40 last year and have always had good skin. I think this has been caused by sunburn a couple of years ago. A derm diagnosed dermatitis because of the itch but I had no redness at this time. My nose and cheek area now are red, inflamed basically blocked pores.

Ideally you need to go to a salon specialising in skin care. Get some advice and ask what happens if the products don't improve your skin. We offer a refund.

I went to a very interesting talk by a dermatologist. He said about 80% of the time he doesn't know what causes someone to have a reaction and he never will.
He also said that until 2011 a substance called MI was only allowed into products that were washed off the skin. From 2011 it has been allowed into products that remain on the skin which is why there has been a massive hike in allergies to this substance.

Make sure you don't use wipes and avoid products with MI. I would also try and avoid anything on my face with sls in. It is a foaming agent although I would hope with your skin you avoid anything foaming!

Apart from that, everything you read on here will be generic or anecdotal.

Until you see a skin specialist (and by that I don't necessarily mean a dermatologist) you won't make a fundamental difference to your skin.

Good luck
