I have decided to buy myself a new brush as the one i was given in training is too big and the barrel is too long.

I have been looking at brushes, going for a size 8 BUT I have found ones that say oval and ones that say round? I didnt know they came in two shapes.

Can you offer any words of guidance?

thank you for your help.

Hi hun....
It can be really confusing but I will try to help you...
Usually when choosing a brush, the 'round' or 'oval' refers to the shape of the ferrule .....

You can see on this picture of the ezflow oval 508 (not the brush I use) it has an oval ferrule (where the hairs are joined together at the base of the brush) it looks like it has been flattened slightly.....

Yet on these brushes.....

They have a round ferrule.....

I am not sure what the benefits are of using a round brush....I think its just down to personal prefference to be honest ..

i like round ones for nail art... and oval for sculpts.
