Saks Apprenticeships

Hi

I am new to this site.

After nine years working in the sales and Marketing Industry if finally followed a lifelong dream and completed some training, specifcally nails and am currently working towards builiding my portfolio for my NVQ Qualification.

This has wet my appetite and am really interested in completing a NVQ Level 2 and 3 Beauty Therapy.

Has anyone done a Saks Apprenticeship or have any information? Have attempted to speak to someone after i submitted an email to them, however no luck yet.

Bearing in mind im 31 - am i too old for an apprenticeship??

Would love any info you could provide.

If it's anything like the Saks in Bury they will say you are too old as I tried to apply for it in bury and they said 'sorry your not a school leaver' HTHs x

Hi there J im 28 and i have just been made redundant from a career in HR, I also decided to follow my dream of working in the beauty industry and am 2 weeks away from completing my NVQ Level 2 in Makeup, as i have a family to support i was hoping to start an apprenticeship in beauty therapy and broarden my skills i also want to complete my NVQ Level 3 in Makeup as being a makeup artist would be my dream job. I thought an apprenticeip would be great so that i could earn a little money as i completed the next stage of my training, so far i havent had any luck! I did contact Saks they just asked me to send a C.V. which i did but i havent heard back from them yet, so in the mean time i am just looking for a job that will work around my NVQ Level 3 in makeup. Good luck it can be a little harder for us mature beauty students I hope you find something VERY soon!!!

I really hate that. I would never turn someone down due to age. For all they know they are turning down (potentially) someone with a great talent!!
