Hey guys :)

Hope you're all well. Basically as the title says, we're torn between going with Salon Clarity and Phorest for our salon software. Both have really good features and are pretty similar in that sense but just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with them, good or bad?

There seems to be a few threads on Phorest but not so many on Salon Clarity.

Would love to hear your thoughts :)

Hi Pastille_Nails,

Have you had a demonstration and trial of the software providers to compare them? StudioTracker salon software is based in Leeds and provides specialist software specifically for Nail and Beauty salons. You can also have a free trial to ensure the software is fully compatible to your needs before you commit to purchase.

Hope this helps.

I have been looking at Salon Clarity for some time now. Recently I became aware of Phorest. I have looked at shortcuts, and an other one, maybe Isalon.
According to the sales team they all are the best. I think there are positive and negatives for them all. The thing I don't like on a lot of packages is the monthly costs involved. I can buy a full system for anything from 2-3K for most companies. many companies then want you to pay a monthly fee, for either maintenance & support. Phorest have an other fee if you want your clients to book online through your Facebook page then pay a monthly subscription for your clients to download an app to their phone to book on the move. Dont get me wrong I think this is a great use of technology, but at around £90-100/month is it worth it? If you are a large chain then yes, but for a single salon Im not so sure. I am sure one of the salon software companies will tell me I am wrong on this? Salon Clarity are working on a button on your website page so clients can book online on your home page. I have seen Salon Clarity at a trade show and spent time with Damian from Salon Clarity on my computer where I can see his computer screen on my laptop in work and see a demo of the program. I will be paying a deposit on Salon Clarity in the next couple of months. I believe there program will do what i want it to do. If not, at least I own the hardware and can install a new program. There are many salon software packages available and I believe they are all looking at each other and trying to out do each other. Really I don't know what best but i am going to take a leap of faith.

I have used Salon Iris for the past year and am really happy with it. I paid for it over 12 months interest free. As far as ongoing costs go, I pay pennies per text, and the system works seamlessly. If I opt for online booking, it is an additional cost, but I'm about to bit the bullet and go for it. Really pleased with the support etc. I looked at Phorest, but it made too much of a dent in my budget!

The salon i work in uses phorest. Its brilliant i did a training course from home and they just guide you through the system so you don't actually have to be im the salon. Also i got text templates sent so you have some idea before you send one. I get emails every month from them saying how to deal with everyday problems and increase profit:)
