Quick question guys,

I have a friend that currently rents a chair in a salon. The Salon owner wants to close down for a 2 week refurb. The salon owner has stated that she still need to pay chair rent, is this correct? Thank you.

If she still needs to pay her rent over that time then id say yes

I can't see how you can pay to rent a chair you don't have access to. I wouldn't say so.

1, Check the contract and see exactly what she signed? 2, If she hasn't got one. Certainly not. I wouldn't pay for a service I wasn't receiving? I'm full of them tricks lol.... 3, If the salon owner is a sole trader she should also check her lease. Most leases do not allow subletting without permission!! Just a thought!

Thanks guys.

Definitely not.
You can’t charge rent for a service that you’re not providing.
You’re paying to rent and USE the chair.
