Could anyone please tell me what the salon speed should be to prep, tip and blend 10 nails, assuming the overall service was going to be 2 hours.

Thankyou

I used to speed up too much on the P.R.E.P process because I was told by the Salon Owner. The result was 'nails fell off' or 'chip chip chip' and she kept asking why why why...

I use 20 mins, I'm not sure is that too long or short but the most important process is to P.R.E.P carefully.

Thankyou, I am training at the moment, for my exam I have 2 hours to do a set. At the moment I am taking 40 minutes to prep, tip and blend one hand. I am soooo slow....

Outline all your steps in your mind, keep the desk organised and put everything back once you use it. This way you won't be looking around for you file, brush etc everytime you need it. And practice! Eventually things will become natural and it flow better giving you speed.

I dont really worry about speed of your work, nothing look nice if you rush to do, take your time and the more you do you will speed up in no time ;)

i totally agree! if you try to rush your work wont be your best. just take your time and speed will come eventually. :) i used to take 3 hours to do a set and i was totally stressed at how long i took compared to others but dont worry about it, just practise practise practise and you WILL get quicker. :) xx

well i just did my first full set of acrylic pink and whites in 3 hours, they look really good so dont care about the timing for now, got a few weeks to speed up yet and models queueing up now

i have never rushed my prep time as its the foundation of all your work. when i worked in hong kong i was told about 15 mins but now im my own boss i can take up to 3o mins

Thanks, I'm not trying to rush it though, today was the first time I had done a full set. Was just wondering how long it took experienced techs as I had no idea till today how long it would take me with the overlays and my exam time is 2 hours.
