Hi guys looking for some advice! I started working at a salon doing lash extensions for £10 an hour, we had complaints from people having bad retention through the hot weather and now my boss is refusing to pay me as she’s had to ‘fix’ them? Where do I stand on getting this pay as it’s two weeks worth of wages, I do not work for free[emoji854]

Got a contract?

Are you actually properly employed and NOT self-emplyed? Not cash in hand. Properly through PAYE on the books?

Realistically she has to pay you if you're employed and if she's not happy she has to pay you and sack you.

That’s my problem I don’t have a contract in writing as I left after the two weeks as I hated it there, this was before I was given my contract, worked for two weeks under the basis that I was on £10 an hour! but I haven’t received my pay still, I don’t really have a leg to stand on now do I‍♀️!

You can sue your employer for unpaid wages.
You have to follow the process starting with writing to your ex employer stating how much you are owed (hours worked x hourly rate) and there’s a time limit of 3 months from the date your wages were due to be paid, to start the grievance process.

Visit your local citizens advice for help in drafting the letter and taking further action.

Just because you didn’t have a contract, you can still show that you worked for them for 2 weeks.
