I've posted a thread before regarding nail file grit but i'm still struggling.

I've got some gosh i think there 180/140 grit file or 130.
i use these for filing down my extensions after application as mine isn't the best at the moment then i have this 4 in 1 thing which has different grit files so after ive used my 180/140 i use this other one 2 grits and 2 buffers but i'm getting really bad scratch marks on them

any idea??

thanks

You need to buy new abrasives and decide carefully what you are using them for. All my abrasives have a specific purpose:

150 grit zebra file

- Thinning product for rebalance
- Pre-blending tips

100/180 Hotshot (CND)

- 180 side for refining the shape of my finished enhancement

240/1200 Koala Buffer (CND)

- 240 side for removing shine from nail plate prior to application
- 240 and 1200 side for finishing enhancement

Snow Money/Miracle Shine (EzFlow)

- Chamois side only for bringing to a high shine.

So my procedure for finishing enhancements:

Refine shape with 180
Further refine with 240
Buff Solar Oil in with 1200
Bring to high shine with Snow Monkey

It sounds to me like you are going from too harsh a grit to a buffer without removing the scratches on the way.

Hth's

Yes, i think i understand why this is happening, i need like a sequence, lol

thankyou

Gradute to the higher grits slowly instead of jumping to the buffer from a low grit file, sounds like you are already on the right track!

180
240
1200 w/solar oil
Then buff to a shine!
(Be sure to scrubfresh the solar oil off the surface before high gloss buffing to extend the life of your. Uffer ;o)
