Hiya, I am very new to this and this is my 2nd attempt at sculpting on a form. i know the sidewall on my ring finger (on hand without ring!) is bad, my nail is fan shaped and i have problems with bringing it in without filing away the natural nail!
I also know they are far from perfect, and so would like any advice you can offer, thanks :)

swit swoo, they look super, your smile lines are lovely and smooth, i'd be thrilled with these x

thanks!
has anyone got any constructive critisism??? please :)

Hi hun, for fan shaped nails, try a square nail, or a squavole, rounded edges to a square nail, it helps the nail not look so hippy, the nails themselves, from what I can see from the photo, your zone 3, looks flush, side walls look a little bit wide on some of them, but that's just a little bit of work with your file to bring them in more. I would play with extending the nail bed, you don't have to use opac powder to do this, you can use a bit of glitter mixed in with pink and fade it back from zone 2 into zone 3, bring it right to the end of your free edge, keep it thin, shape it, then put your form on, do zone 1 as normal and then 2 and 3 and there is your longer nail bed.
Now for the photo:lol:
Holding a glass or bottle in your hands is a good way to get the top view of your nails, then you want to hold your hand paralell to the camara so we can see the apex and finally a shot taken end on so we can see the thickness of the nails looking straight down the barrel.
Well done for posting hun, these are good nails, just need a bit of tweeking to make them better, but you should be charging for these, are you?

Thankyou for the tips!
I'll try extending the beds next time and have had my files out and brought in the walls a bit. I'm not yet qualified but am charging £15 to people i practice on.

as for the photo, my best friend is a photographer and tried insisting i lay my hands flat on a sheet of white paper, this was my compromise! I'll show her you comments :)

thanks again for the advice
xXx
