Hey girls & guys

I have recently tried doing reverse sculpt nails on the salon as i prefer it when the whites are bright White and I also want to try using glitters etc and get my creative side going but I'm finding it really hard to do and it's taking me 2 hours to do a set plus I'm getting lifting! Sculpted are much stronger if done properly and I don't feel like a real nail tech when I use White tips but I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle???

I just don't know what to do and it's stressing me out! What do you girls/guys use in the salon tips or sculpts?

Hope you can help

Time and practice will get you there! The lifting though, if you have it on sculpts you will have it on tips also--since that is more likely a prep or ratio issue. I am the reverse, I have never been one to really use tips and if I try them, they end up taking me longer than if I had just sculpted it!

i usually tip but certain clients request sculpts and i'm just as happy to do that for them.

there isnt a difference in strength if you do the tips correctly and it doesnt make you an inferior tech if you dont do them.
however you can offer your services to a wider range of clients if you know how to sculpt and it is also a useful skill to repair broken nail extensions when you would otherwise need to remove completely.

you can still offer colour and glitter tips as well as a good pink and white set if you use tips, they dont neccessarily need to be sculpted.

I agree with Susan. Learn how to do both .. excellently. Both are equally strong and if done well are indistinguisable from each other.

Sorry, I just want to clarify something :D Are you talking about
using tips vs sculpting on a form
or
sculpting a white free edge with white powder vs using a white tip?

If you are talking about sculpting a white free edge instead of using white tips (which is what I think you are asking) then my answer is I don't use white tips.

Unfortunately it will take time to learn how to sculpt a nice free edge... it takes a lot of practise! Buy yourself a load of cheap tips and use every spare minute you have to practise.
You can either hold them or stick them to sticks etc... only do the free edge placement.

Practise picking up beads of different sizes - to suit the tip size - learning to control your mix ratio is vital - if your mix is off, it will make application hard work & lead to service breakdown.

Practise product placement, recognising when your bead is ready for you to start moving it into place and how much time you have to work on perfecting your smile line.

I have hundreds of these tips lol

In the meantime, you can continue to use white tips... so long as you are practising - because at some point you will need to rebalance!

Anyway I'm going on - and I'm getting in trouble because my dinner is ready

I hope I have answered your question.

hey guys thanks for all your help. x
