ive never had any problems with them before but a couple of clients have said some nails have come off. could i be doing something wrong? or will it just be clients doing things that are damaging nails? just dopnt want to get a bad reputation when im trying to set up a business! hmm....

This is always a worry when starting up any business .. your reputation ... but really you have to learn to take a few knocks without being paranoid that they will ruin your reputation.

I think it is more likely that you are having probelms with a few clients rather than NSI products, which are used sucessfully by many technicians ... and all those technicians have clients that are great at living with their enhancements and clients that are not so great at living with enhancements; clients who are good at home care and clients who are not ... clients who are heavy handed and clients who are not .... that's life in the salon. You will win a few and loose a few as happens in all businesses.

Be firm and trust your work. As long as the successes are greater than the failures I think you can put it down to human nature and the vagaries of dealing with people.

Emma,

Are these regular clients that you've kept acrylics on successfully before? If so, feel free to PM and I can troubleshoot with you.

Why should anyone use the pm optioin when what this site is for is to help ALL.

I'm sure if there are any real problems with application, then many would benefit from hearing your trouble shooting tips.

yeah geeg thats exactly what i was thinking. This information should be freely available to all.

Btw i have used NSI since 2002 and have hundreds of very satisfied customers

People come to this site expecting and asking for help ... and they always get it and it is always good advice too ...

I personally think it is just plain 'off' for anyone to post saying "pm me for advice"!! People come here for advice not to be told they have to go somewhere else for it in private!!!

If the person offering wants to help further they can do it right here on salongeek.com that is what makes this site so special the spirit of giving and being open about it.

Hi Emma
if you havent had problems before i think they are probably picking at the nails and not telling you the truth. Ask them to come by as soon as they can so you can repair, then have a good look them for any signs of biting e.t.c. if i find picking signs i jokingly say oh you are as bad as me, i tend to pick at mine when im stressed and they usually admit.

Give a good prep and repair while sayingnow these should be grand, also check length as they could be typing more than usual which normally causes problems.

but remember its just a few clients so you cant be bad at doing nails, plus the swift repairs should stop anyone from giving you a bad reputation.

Good luck xx

thanks for the advice everyone :)
i'll offer them repairs when ever it happens again and then i can have a closer look at them. im also considering printing off some after care advice because i think thats what it comes down to, clients not listening hehe!
