Self assessment spreadsheet templates?

Hello!!

The time for Self Assessment is approaching and I'm going to do it myself again this year.
Last year was a bit of a ball ache so was wondering if there are any template spreadsheets for it anywhere??

Buy the TaxCalc software - makes it a total dream to do! Does all the calculations and has lots of advice built in on how to complete everything.

Hi,

What I would recommend depends what stage you are at.

If you still need to pull together a profit and loss account and are looking for a spreadsheet to help with that, you could look at VT Software which Excel based and used by a lot of accountants. If memory serves, it even offers a reasonably long free period before you have to buy a licence.

If you already have your P&L figures ready, then TaxCalc is a good choice, no doubt about it. That being said, if you have your P&L ready and your tax affairs are relatively simple, the HMRC web based tax return site is perfectly good too.
