Self employed and on Jobseekers

When I was on a very low contract after leaving college (my weekly income was less than job seekers) they subsidised it weekly to jsa minimum for my age band. I still had to go in fortnightly like all others on jsa and take in my payslip at the appointment nearest to getting it, try would then work out what I was due and only give me that. I don't know how it would work self employed but worth going in to ask. They also will give a grant toward interview clothes and possibly if you get a nice person towards a start up.
