Hey all!
So I need some advice...I am looking to convert my summer house (which is quiet small) into a massage and beauty room. It is situated in my garden at the bottom and has a back entrance and parking so it's perfect - I didn't like the idea of clients coming through the house.

Now, what do I need to do regarding the council? I will have my own insurance. Do I need to inform anyone else?

Also, regarding an "salon opening" for those who are self employed but don't have enough space in their beauty room to have clients over for celebratory champagne...what would you do?

Thanks in advance! :)

I believe you also need to contact your landlord or mortgage provider

As above.

Council and landlord/mortgage company permission in writing.
Council will see how this will affect local parking and the neighbours. You may also have business rates if it's a dedicated workspace so important to speak to them first. Also worth speaking with your home insurance providers so they're aware although I know you aren't asking them to cover anything business related.
