Hi
I went for an interview in a salon today and we had agreed that we would split income 50-50 and she would supply products. We then decided that i would supply my own acrylic kit to save her buying it all in and this is what is causing confusion. she has asked me to find out my cost per treatment and i will get that on top of my share to cover costs.

Does anyone have any idea what this is roughly? i use NSI products for acrylic?

I will also be doing spray tanning which the owner will supply solution and gun but i would prefer to use my own gun which she is fine with but i would also like to use my own solution. Does anyone know what would be a good offer to suit both of us if i supplied the products myself?

If you supply all your own products, I would say 70% to you is fair but it depends on how good you are and how good the salon and space you are renting is, etc.

Whatever agreement you reach, you could also agree to review it in c3 months so that it is fair to both of you.

i will have my own room but will not be paying rent as such. just splitting profits xx

This arrangement sounds quite confusing and undefined and not measurable in terms of whose products have been used for which treatments for both parties.

Maybe you would be better off trying to negotiate a fixed rent for the room and use your own products for all treatments or as Christine has said, a lower % split.
