Hello,

Do any of you know, if you are off sick, can you get covered by insurance so you can get some financial help?

I've been off before (2 or 3 day period), and when you're busy, it looses you a lot of pennies?

Anyone that can help would be appreciated?

Thanks

sick pay doesn't kick in for at least 4 working days. If you are long term sick, then I think you can sign on. for a couple of days...... the downside of self employment I'm afraid

There are income protection schemes, but they tend to have conditions expecting long periods of sick before they pay out, from memory the one I looked at many moons ago was 21 days sick before it paid.

The policy was fairly expensive too, about £100 a month, which I'd rather put in a savings account earning me interest and instant access than give it to someone else.

They also had other small print such as not being able to work as a nail tech didn't mean I couldn't work doing something else such as taking calls in a call cnetre for instance so it wouldn't pay out long term if I'd damaged a wrist or shoulder for example.

It's pity, as I believe there is a great market for a more user friendly policy

Best thing to do is to call a good local Independent Financial Advisor who can look into a policy that may be suitable.
