Hey everyone!

I have been self employed for 6months now working mobile and doing nails in a salon. In 2 weeks i am going to rent a space in a salon full time and i am scared!!
Im just wondering if any of you guys felt this way? Im so scared i wont make my rent every month as i dont have a huge client base yet!!

Im just wondering if im worrying and stressing myself out for no reason!!

What do you all think?? xx

Go for it!!

I did the same ting. Was home based for a few mnths then had the chance to rent space in a salon. Best thing ever!! My client base has grown and continues to do so.
As long as you're prepared to work the hours, do the courses and work with your clients you will be fine!

Good luck xxx

I've been self employed for 5 years now and I think I physically shook for the first year!

as long as you are not dependant on x amount of money coming in every month, you will do fine. I rent 2 separate rooms, and i sometimes cover the rent but no wages.

Hi nicky, scared was not the word, i was that bad i was sick with worry. But it all went really well. I have actually left there now, but to be fair it was not through lack of clients, it was the emense child care costs i would have incurred had i carried on. I work from home now and it fits in so much better. Good luck hun, not that u will need it, u will be just finexxxxxxxxxx

I was very worried for a while, I don't think I had any clients for a couple of weeks.

I am glad to say that I go from strength to strength - I have just started year 2 as self employed. However, I have had my quiet times and I am sure that there will still be some such as October/January and to compensate for this I do have another part time job.

Most weeks now though I am fully booked on the days I work for myself.

The thing I like about being self employed is being able to work when I want and what hours I want.

Keep at it chicken, all will come out good.

For the first 6 months I was terrified! Now I'm just scared. Even when things are going really well, as they are now, I constantly worry about the following week, month, year! It just goes with the territory of being a business owner. my husband has had is own very successful business for over 14 years and he still has the odd sleepless night from time to time.

I've been self-employed for 6 years or so, and although I still worry sometimes, I don't do so as much as I did. After a while you get used to it & know that the ups & downs normally balance out...mind you I still put money away when it's busy in the summer for the winter!

I agree:) go for it and good luck:hug:, you coud start off slowly by working hard but only a few days a week, then when you feel that you have built up your client base you can go for it.
