Hello!

Ok, so I was considering training in lashes and figured that as Ive never actually had any on myself, to get an idea of them I would go ahead and try them! So off I tootled to get some on, in the end I went for 3D ones, as they came highly rec. Ive had them on for a couple of months now and have had a number of infills, however I can honestly say Ive never been totally happy with them. Im finding that a lot of them 'twist' so that they go off at odd angles and curve the wrong way. More worryingly, Im finding that my lashes underneath now seem really sparce, as in, where there are gaps where the false lashes have come off, I have like literally 1 or 2 lashes of my own, I look bald:cry: I follow all the aftercare to the 't' so I dont think Im doing anything to affect them. Im just wondering if this is considered the norm as it has seriously put me off. I have had a word with the therapist who did them and she said theyre twisting as a result of the way I sleep? And as far as the sparceness goes, its because Im now used to seeing myself with gorgeous long, dark lashes and my own in comparison seem much shorter and thinner.........yes I can understand this point, however, I dont have any lashes there to compare the 2!!!! Any advice would be really appreciated!xxx

Hi Sparkleberry. Usually I find that if the lashes are twisting as they grow out, it is due to the extension being too long or too thick for your natural lash to support. This can also cause the natural lash to fall out prematurely, but there should be a lash close behind to fill in the gap. Also, we go through shedding phases. Sometimes I will notice a client go through this and they seem to have several shorter lashes, but by the next fill they are all long and strong enough for an extension. Now if you have gaps were there are no lashes at all, then that could be a problem and may require some lash rehab.

But I definitely also agree that we forget how short our natural lashes really were before the extensions and think they are being damaged. This is why it is critical to take before and after pictures to keep in the clients file. HTH.

I agree with the above. Normaly twisting of the extension can be that the extensions is to long/thick for the natural lash.
Also, have you noticed that there are lashes glued together? If there are then obviously, they fall out together so you look like your losing more, iykwim. hth x

If you get a mascara brush (a new one not one that has been used with mascara) and gently twizzle the lashes from above and then brush gently underneath, you'll be able to manipulate them into place. And yes your natural lashes will look very short and thin to you now as your used to luscious lashes. I've had lashes in for months, and had them removed last week only to have them replaced next week as I hate not being without them now.
When I do my clients I use Nouveau C Curl, I just love them and they always give a fantastic look, maybe you try those? xx

Ahhh thankyou so much for your replies! It has made me feel better!I think I was panicing that Id damaged my own lashes underneath (and they werent great to start off with!) Im still undecided as to whether to go back for my next infill (Im due soon!) or if I should just make do with my own! Im also wondering if a different brand would be any different/better? Yep-I have noticed that a few are coming out glued together, infact-more often than not!Hajam, Ive tried this and yep, it works but whenever I next look in the mirror, they are all haywire again! Its so frustrating!!!But thanks for the suggestion! Thanks again for replying guys!xxx

If you are losing more than one natural lash with one extension then they are not fitted correctly,
one extension is meant to be fit to one natural lash, not several,
if as you say you are getting a few fall out glued together then yes, this is causing damage to your natural lash,
i have to say that it is not down to the brand been used but the therapist who is applying them for you,
most brands of lashes can and do look fab but only when fitted correctly,

it is up to you if you want to keep up to them, personally i would still want to have lashes but would find some where else for them,
look at the therapists website for before and after shots,
if they don't have a website ask them if they have photos of the work that they have done so you can see for yourself the standard of work that they produce, hth

Hi LoubyLou! Thanks for replying! Yep-on average, I get about 3 of my own coming out with the false one, Ive had the odd one where its just been one, and the most Ive counted had been 5 gulp!!!! eeek! I have decided not to continue with them!!!Though they look hideous atm but heyho!!Thanks again!xxx
