Hi All,

Wonder if you can advise please, I recently had semi permanent eyebrows, and i hate it! The person that did them clearly didnt know what they were doing. I have basically been left with a black strip for eyebrows.

I havee had them for 3 months now and they do not seem to have faded. I have brought that lazer tattoo cream but that doesnt seem to be doing anything.

Just wondering if you have any advice or ideas of what I can use to fade it. I know it may not go completely but even if I could just fade it would be good.

Thank you for your time. x

i had mine done at the beginning of the year and christ they were awful! they were patchy and wonky, i asked her to add length to one as i'd lost hair on that eyebrow and she added length to the other?! I also had a bold patch on one of my arches and she filled it in but extremely thick compared to the other.

anyway, i did some research and could not find anything about getting them removed so i ended up going to someone else who is highly recommended in Bristol. She's done it over the top of my old ones and they look amazing! you'd never know they were messed up before x

Any ideas how long they are suppose to last?

18months and you'll need infils they usually say, so they'll proberly be quite faded by then, one of the make up geeks who offer this treatment might come in and have some advice, fingers crossed, i feel your pain, it's not nice having eyebrows you hate :( x

They will fade over time, 3 months is really not very long. Is this the first time you had them done? Did she use pure black? God I hope not...

I'd suggest going to see your gp about removal as they could advise you of laser treatments available. Other than that, you pretty much have to wait. They can take up to 3 years to fade completely depending on your skin etc.

Also next time it would be advisable to look at the tech's previous work and get recommendations if you can. Hth x

I also had my eyebrows botched, blobs and dots instead of hairline strokes.
I have been using a low chemical peel on them, and sunbathed while on holiday (with sun cream on) that's also faded them a bit, i have to tint mine to join up the blobs and dots, darn it:(

3 years?!!!!!! OMG! She says it was'nt black, it was a dark brown, but it looks black.

I would'nt go as far as laser treatment on them. I think i may try that fade out cream and see how that works.

At the moment i conceal it with makeup and draw my brows in with a light brown pencil.

Thanks for your advice all.

I'd say the 3 years is absolute maximum. Didn't mean to panic you! Sorry.

Have you spoken to the person who did them? You may want to claim your money back at least as it must have cost you quite a lot, they aren't cheap! They might also be able to advise you of a way of removal.x

I think that Finishing Touches trains a technique of tattoo removal not using lasers. I'm sure if you contacted them, they could put you in touch with someone they've trained in your area...

Semi Permanent Make Up Treatments, Tattoo Removal & Cosmetic Tattoos

Here's the blurb from their website...

Tattoo Removal
Over recent years we have seen a rise in body tattoos. Whilst most people are happy with their choices many regret their body art. We are able to remove tattoos and semi permanent make up by using a technique which gently implants a removal solution into the site of the tattoo. Through careful and light application the colour is drawn from the skin. Most tattoo removal will take a minimum of 4 treatments. The length of treatment time is dependent on the colour, depth and size of the original tattoo and the clients skin type and ability to adhere to the aftercare regime. Procedures can be less painful than laser removal, and treatments can be scheduled every 8-12 weeks. It is imperative that you follow the prescribed aftercare regime and your specialist will explain in detail why this is so vital to success. The treatment is safe and offers clients an alternative to other removal processes with the benefit of being able to remove all colours although as with laser - it is not possible to guarantee complete removal.

I'm not trained in SPMU myself so can't answer any questions.

Thanks for this. x

Careful at getting this finishing touches treatment it is just acid being tattooed into the skin it does scar, just get laser done, quicker and more effective. I know it scar as one of my clients did not like her lip line after a matter of weeks and had it removed at finishing touches and she was left with scaring as a result.

Hi, I trained with finishing touches and they definately do a form of tattoo removal , i think it is in the form of a pigment tatooed over the top which disperses the colour, but definately gove them a ring, good luck. ps they should have checked the pigment on you first ! xx

You can either have them removed by SPMU artist who has been trained in removal. Or you could have them done again by an expert and they could change the whole look of them for you.

Don't worry as I'm sure they'll make them look fab but choose your technician wisely and only after you've seen their work on an actual person and not photo's.

You could of course ask to be a model with Finishing Touches or another company and not only will you only have to pay a small amount but they will be done to perfection. x
