Hiya peeps can you give me some advice on CND L&p enhancements please...I am in the middle of my training with CND and have done a clients nails lastnight, she has came to me today and loves them but said lastnite they were very sensitive and sort of tight? (said she's never had this before with other enhancements) Is this normal and if not could there be a reason for it, have a done something wrong?
I followed everything Ive been taught to the letter so its not that Ive missed anything, prepped thoroughly etc
The only thing I can think of is that she picked some enhancements off about 2/3 weeks ago-would this be a cause of sensitivity or is it just the L&p ''setting'' onto her nails?

It may be down to the fact that as she's 'picked' off her enhancements & damaged her nail plates, probably removing a layer of nail plate & the fact that you may of used too wet a mix ratio - L&P polymerizing will shrink more if it's too wet a mix and can cause a burning & tightening sensation if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks Bev hun, I thought maybe might not help that she picked her last ones off and come to think of it yes my CND trainer did mention that maybe my mix was a little wet. Will have to work on it. I find that sometimes it sticks to the brush when Im patting/pressing if I try and make it drier though :(

When you dip your brush into the powder and lift out your bead lift it up and look at it...count 1-2-3 or going going gone, and you should see the monomer soaking up the powder, if it's really glossy before you've finished counting/saying the words, then your mix is too wet, drop the bead off onto a lint free wipe and dip your brush and wipe against the side of the dappen dish and try again.
You will see that when you've finished saying/counting, there should be a bead that looks more like frosted glass & not too shiney. Place your bead onto the nail & count 1-2-3 to allow it to settle out and it will bring any small bubbles if there are any up to the top and 'dome', the don't PAT it, press it and push it with the flags of your brush pressing into place & wipe down towards the free edge to sculpt and smooth, and continue until you've done the nail.
Patting will create air bubbles, press and push. Think about the angle of your brush depending on the zone you are working on....there's a tutorial on here http://www.salongeek.com/nail-application/8912-product-control-part-1-mix-ratio.html

Have a read through, and practise your mix ratio onto a plastic tip box lid...watch the bead settle....it should dome if it's right, if it spreads out a lot, then your working too wet, if it's lumpy looking, your working too dry...practise and practise hun, then you'll be able to get to the stage when you can just see it's right.
At the end of the day, it does not matter how many beads you use say into zones 2 & 3 to create the correct nail.
Just be sure that if you're sculpting zone 1 with a french white, try to get the correct bead size, as adding extra beads with white could cause marbling, as can working too wet with the whites.
Practise and practise...you'll get there:hug:

Thanks Bev, I have looked through hun and need lots more practice. Thanks for the advice,my arms are gonna be droppin off by this time next week!!!! xxx

Bless ya!
It may seem like loads to take in, but once you get going with it, you will see what I'm talking about and see the differences in the beads you are picking up.
Don't become too disheartened either if you can't seem to get it perfect everytime - I've been doing acrylics for 5 years and I still have days when I just can't seem to get the bead right lol.

Get your hands on a copy of Gigi's Nailclass book, you can sit at your desk with it next to you and follow her word for word - fantastic book. You can get it from Sweet Squared.
Stick with it mate - you be fine:hug:
