Set up costs

Hi All
I have signed up for the Creative five day foundation course and about to book myself on a spray tanning couse...all with a view to go mobile, just one question - how much do you thing start up costs will be? I mean stock and equipment?

Far more than you ever dared think!
However much you think it's going to cost, double it and you'll be about right.
It's all the little things that add up!

oohhh yeah its alot

Ive just done my first 4 days of my creative course.......its amazing. You get your basic kit for your course but ive found ive needed more files, tips etc to keep me going through my practices.
I also did my sienna x training and i have only needed to buy more solution so far and thats because i have been so busy. Everything else i needed was in the kit i got when i did my traning.

I guess you always forget about things like barbicide, a manicure table, chairs, stools etc, they all add up. As well as your marketing, pricelists, adverts etc.

My advice would be to look at what you really need and get that first, then when you start making money go and get all the nice little extras!

When I done my CND course, before it was even over I had to spend more money on the kit! Tips etc! Then you need glue, something to carry it all in etc.
Its best not to set a budget for these things as you cant stick to it. If things are a little tight with money then I would postpone the course for now till you have saved up a bit more money

Could you not buy things now, mabe a little bit each week to make it more affordable for you? Or how about trying to get a start up loan/funding?

To be honest, yes you do need to buy some extras for your kit, but while your practising on friends just charge them a little for your time and products and as the time goes by just add little bits to your kit. Before you know it you will have loads and then by this time you will be out taking money from the public and will eventually start to make a profit.
