hi alll
just a quikie i done a set of l&p tip overlays tonight i done with pink acrylic tips they looked great but i mixed my natural and clear powder together nsi speed powders and on some of the nails they had a shadow under them ive never had that before was just wondering if any 1 else has ?? and do u think its because i mixed the powders ?

also im booking onto the nsi sculpting course because im just rubbish at them and think it would be so much easier to scuplt rather than sticking tips on all the time has any 1 done thhis and do u think its worth it as it is only half a day im wondering how much more im going to learn in that amount of time ??? wot do use think ?

thanks clairex

Do you have any training at all?
Your profile doesn't say.
Perhaps the shadows are from the powders not being mixed together well enough.

it might be from not blending the tips enough....are the shadows all in the same place??
Also scuplting is not as easier as you may think...plus there are times where you may need to tip....i would get to grips with the tips before doing the sculpting.

What do I think?

I think You will learn the theory of Sculpting nails presumably, and then do some practical work which you will need to practise hard and long until you gain the experience you need to be considered competent.

If you want to flounder around on your own without a class, then it will just take you 3 times as long to get where you want to be if you ever get there at all.

Hi

I am self taught with sculpting and did a heck of a lot of practice but am pretty competent now. however, nothing beats proper training and it probably took me a lot longer to get to grips with it doing it on my own.

You need to be able to do both really tip and sculpt so that you can use whatever is best for the client and the nails they have.

Maybe you could do with some one to one training?

all the best

thanks for all your replies yes i am trained done my nvq and also done a conversion course with nsi the shadow isnt coming from under the tips its in different places under the acrylic on the nail bed it must be somethin to do with me mixing the two powders together cause ive never had that before
i have done sculpting training before as part of my nvq so i have already done the therory and practial sides of sculpting which i passed i just thought nsi might offer a bit more and a bit of a refresher as it was 5 years ago i did my nvq
thanks again for your comments i will probably do the course and just keep practicing

can i ask you why you mixed the powders together hun? sorry just being nosey, never heard of this before
