Just wondering, in your opinions is it lifting/chipping at the free edge because they were not sealed properly?

This isn't my work by the way, but was done on me by another lady as part of our course x

I'd say there was an element of free edge shrinkage (common with some CND Shellac colours) which contributed to improper free edge seal
 
Btw, it also looks to me from the photo, although not perfectly clear, that the Shellac could be touching the skin at the side walls.
 
Thanks both. I was just curious, the free edge has gotten a bit worse. I wonder how my models are getting on and if theres have started chipping too
 
Shellac is a little bit weaker compared to other gels because its a polish/gel hybrid, but other gels can be just as weak due to other factors. You usually get chipping with shellac after a week. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.
