Please can someone help me. Got me shellac kit 2day and jst applied the shellac bt it's still tacky. I've cured 4 4mins now, anyone with some advice would b great xx

are you using a cnd lamp ?

I'm new to this as well, but this is what I have learnt and havent had any problems. Cure base coat for 10 seconds, then colour for 2 minutes, second colour layer for 2 minutes and top coat for 2 minutes. All layers will be tacky in between just be careful not to catch it and then at the end after the top coat is cured wipe away inhibition (sticky) layer with isopropyl alcohol (s2 sell it as d.sperse) and it should be fine. What lamp are you using???

,

Looking at your profile, I see you have been working with gels but are new to nails ... surely you know that all gels feel tacky when cured and that the inhibition layer has to be wiped away??

I do not mean to sound snippy ,,, but I do get exasperated ... I'm only HUMAN !!

Do people not read the things people take the time to write ??? Read this.

Are you whiping the inhibition layer of the top coat after curing it?
are you putting it on to thick?
and have you removed the blue film from the insides of your CND lamp?

The top coat will always be sticky even when fully cured for 2 minutes or 12 minutes .. You ALWAYS cure for just 2 minutes and then wipe the sticky layer off with D.Sperse!!!

do you have to use d.sperse or can you use scrubfresh? x

You must absolutely NEVER use Scrub Fresh!! It will break down Shellac/the product. Use the D.Sperse which will not affect the product at all. Jees I hope people are not using ScrubFresh or thinking they can ... where does it say THAT in the application instructions??????

sorry geeg i am currently not in a salon and havnt been on here for a while and when i did come on here there is SOOOOO MUCH about shellac i would have had to take a few days off work to look through it all lol x

As said it will always be sticky until you wipe the inhibition layer from the top coat. I think all gels are like this.

I have D.Sperse and also got Isopropyl Alcohol wipes. I like the wipes as they come in their own little sealed packet but quite expensive. D.Sperse or Isopropyl Alcohol(IPA) much cheaper.

Everything about Shellac is contained in 3 articles... one in the tutorial section of the site under nail finishing and maintenance .. the other two under Articles (one which defines shellac the system and the other which explains fully how to set up your CND UV Lamp when you receive it).

Thanks for the step by step guides too, like i say only new and hadnt come across them yet.
