what are the steps your following ?
What PEP light , and inhabition remover are you using ?

we really can all guess all day but with out knowing exactly how your doing it , its hard to say whats going wrong x

I use Scrub fresh with a lint free pad to prep the nail
1 thin coat of base coat (under UV almp for 10 seconds)
1 coat colour, cure for 2 mins
2nd coat colour, cure for 2 mins
1 top coat, cure for 2 mins
then scrub fresh to remove tacky layer

The UV lamp is a 36watt lamp but its not by CND, would that make a difference??

Yes , if it isn't the CND then you can not grantee the UV output if fully curing the Product .

Absolutely, you need the CND lamp or it won't cure properly. X

Thanks ladies, Il maybe have to invest in a CND lamp for this then. Would a CND lamp be sufficient enough to cure Gellux as dont really want to have to invest in 2 different lamps if i could get away with 1 for both products! xx

I don't think you are doing anything wrong.

If the free edge is wearing off a touch, then it is a sure sign that the ends of the nails are getting wear and tear otherwise it wouldn't ... this would tell me the nails are probably too long! Shorter length would be better if you see this happening so quickly.

However (important point) even if the free edge wears a tad (and it is so minute that no one can see it) that does not mean that you will get chipping!! I don't, and I file my free edges about every 3-4 days .. I sometimes file a free edge right after doing my Shellac if the length looks un-even .... my Shellac does not chip.

We seal the end of the nails with Shellac not to stop chipping, but so that the finished job looks good and like any other professional polish job should look. The hair line of wear one may get at the free edge is never going to stay perfectly covered for 2-3 weeks! A little grooming every week, or every few days in my case, removes any signs of wear and the nails look brand spanking new again and don't get too long.

You should never use ScrubFresh to remove the tacky inhibition layer ... WE use only D-Sperse which is alcohol and not Acetone!

You also need to remember to use ScrubFresh along the free edge when you are cleaning the nail prior to application of Shellac. You will still always get a little wear at the free edge though; nothing that is noticeable but it will be there just like nail enhancements wear at the free edge (again not noticeable to anyone further away than 6 inches!!); same with nail polish, gels whatever. That is normal with all.
