on my aim to research a bit about shellac before I purchase it and answer some of my clients questions.

I would like to know what will effect it wear e.g. products used on it, gardening, etc.

Does chlorine in swimming pools effect it?

also does it yellow the nails after constant wear, if the client always wears a dark colour. As even with a base coat on some colour will still get through to the nail plate.

There is a Shellac Social group and many, many threads which will answer your questions.

Search and be enlightened!

Acetone will remove it ... other than that I haven't come across anything that has any effect on it.

Of course chlorine will not affect Shellac. Nor does it yellow. If you drag your Shellaced nails along the road they might get scratched or wear at the ends .. they are not made of steel.

I am wondering the same thing as i am also wanting to start using it, let me know if you find out if it causes the nails to turn yellow. I can imagine if it's exactly like a nail varnish then it will if your nails are not exposed to oxygen (over a certain amount of time)

Its not using a quality base coat and using a highly pigmented colour that causes yellowing of the nails Cheaper polishes tend to cause yellowing or not using base coat. They do not need oxygen they do not have lungs, they dont breathe therfor lack of oxygen will not cause them to go yellow.

WEll Shellac is nothing like nail varnish. I have said already that Shellac never yellows. Maybe you should read up on it if you are interested.

What??;)

I think in 5 years of R&D they have covered all bases. It is NOT nail polish - it is HYBRID UV3 technology - imagine a new Nail Category because nothing covers this. I have PM'd you also.
